Extremely rare piece from one of the most ferocious and terrifying accidents ever to happen at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This M16B McLaren car part comes from the 1973 Salt Walther #77 Dayton Walther Special. The part was an aluminum piece that was an extension added to the cars radiator shroud's. During the start of the race Walther's car came into contact with another and became airborne. His car flipped into the catch fence triggering a fiery acccident on the main straight away. This was just one of many incidents from the '73 event which has made this race one of the most talked about in the speedway's long fabled history. It is amazing that this part is well preserved and in extremely good condition with the colors just as bright and vibrant as it was when Walther took to the grid for the start of '73 speed classic.
